CAIDIC MAY JOIN RP ASIAN GAMES TEAM
Manila, April 24, 1998 - Coach Tim Cone is considering including Allan Caidic in the national team pool for the Asian Games in Bangkok.
Meeting with reporters, Cone said Caidic's inclusion gained support from different sectors and is being seriously deliberated. The national team is perceived to be lacking a certified shooter, and Caidic has shown that he is back in top form, helping his team San Miguel enter the PBA finals.
Cone predicted a very tough title series between Alaska and San Miguel in the PBA All-Filipino Cup.
"San Miguel Beer is the toughest team we will be facing in the finals. The title series would be so tough that I can't imagine a sweep," said Cone.
San Miguel is making its first appearance in three years. The last was in the 1995 Governor's Cup won by Alaska. This is also the first time that the Beermen are being handled by American coach Ron Jacobs since winning their title in the 1994 All-Filipino Conference.
