BULLDOZER FAVORED IN FIRST LADY CUP SUNDAY
Manila, April 15, 1998 - The first million-peso race this year happens Sunday, April 19, with the staging of the 4th annual running of the First Lady Silver Cup Race at the Santa Ana Park.
First Lady Amelita Ramos has been invited by Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office Chairman Joaquin Yuseco to award the Silver Cup to the winner.
The FL Silver Cup is a championship event featuring the best locally bred thoroughbreds running 2,050 meters. It is considered a fitting counterpart to the Presidential Gold Cup.
A heavy favorite is two-time Presidential Gold Cup champion Bulldozer, a 5-year-old bay horse whose earnings have surpassed P5 million in just two years.
Challenging Bulldozer in the P1.6-million classic are Alynate, Infinite Grace, Streets of Gold, Flirting Hero, Crimson Queen, Modesty Aside, Power Drive and Runaway Star.
