SUBIC BAY JUMPING WITH RACES IN APRIL
Subic Bay, April 1. 1998 - Sailing in its many forms will be celebrated throughout April at the Subic Bay Yacht Club, which will host the 1998 President's Cup Regatta from April 10 to 8.
Spread over nine days, the Regatta will see a diversity of water craft in various classes of racing involving some of the top sailors not just from Asia but from all over the world.
The President's Cup Regatta has several divisions: windsurfing (Asian championship), beach cats, dinghies, ocean multihulls and keelboats. Foreign participants in the dinghy platu invitation event are from Japan, Thailand, Brunei, Malaysia, Hong Kong and the Philippines.
While the regatta is going on, 38 competing keelboats in the South China Sea Race will cross the finish line just outside the entrance to the Subic Yacht Club and join the festivities.
The South China Sea Race begins April 7 in Hong Kong.
Subic Bay is now known worldwide as one of the best in-shore sailing venues. The natural wonders of Subic Bay have now been enhanced by world-class facilities and legendary parties of the Subic Bay Yacht Club.
