CARMINA LEAVES ABS-CBN FOR GMA-7
Quezon City, April 14, 1998 - Carmina Villaroel sports a very healthy-looking tan and a contented look at the start of the week which launches her daily soap opera on GMA-7, "Ganyan Kita Kamahal."
"I've always wanted to be a part of a soap opera, so when Viva asked me to star in this TV series, I immediately grabbed the opportunity," Carmina said at a press conference.
She showed disappointment over ABS-CBN's decision to kick her out of her regular shows on Channel 2 -- "Oki Doki Doc" and "'SanglinggonApo Sila" which had been part of her life for years.
But she is looking forward to a full year of daily exposure to the masses via her new Channel 7 drama, where she stars as a domestic helper.
Supporting Carmina in various roles in the show are veterans Sandy Andolong and Daria Ramirez, along with Pia Pilapil, former beauty queen Gladys Reyes, Kim delos Santos, Melisse Santiago, Lee Robin Salazar and Maricel Morales.
