BURGER KING OPENING AFLAME
BY FOOD KINGS

Manila, April 13, 1998 - The opening of the first flame-grilled humburger, Burger King, outlet at the United Nations Avenue, sizzled with the attendance of food magnates in the country.

Top executives of the PhilKing Restaurant Development Corporation, Pure Foods Corporation, California-based RY LLC, and ELRO Industrial & Commercial Corporation that introduced America's favorite fastfood chain to the Filipino eatery, were on hand in the opening ceremonies.

Also present in the event were executives of the Coca-Cola Bottlers who provided Burger King clients and guests the favorite drink of the evening, Coca Cola.

Adding to the flaming excitement were the arrival of PBA stars Alvin Patrimonio, Jerry Codinera, coach & Mrs. Eric Altamirano team manager Monchito Mossessgeld, Beefies Dindo Pumaren, Bong Ravena, Rey Evangelista, Elmer Lago, Edmund Reyes, Bong Solomon, and EJ Feihl.

Dabbed as Burger King Manila, the site is equipped drive-thru counter that's open until sunrise. The company plans to open seven more restaurants in the city by June 1998.
