CATHAY INCREASING FLIGHTS TO MANILA, CEBU
Manila, March 14, 1998 - Cathay Pacific Airways is increasing frequencies from Cebu and Manila, adding a second daily flight to Los Angeles, and introducing a new destination.
Betina Palpal-latoc, Cathay's marketing and communications executive based in Manila, said the airline is coping well with the present difficult market conditions.
"We are launching new products, adding flight frequencies and introducing a new destination -- Istanbul -- from Manila via Hong Kong within the year," she said.
Cathay now has four daily flights from Manila to Hong Kong, with a fifth flight on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
"From Cebu, we are expanding our frequency of three times a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays) to four weekly with an additional flight on Fridays by late July or early August. And by late July, we will fly Manila-Los Angeles via Hong Kong twice a day.
