GENERAL SANTOS HOTEL EXPANDS

General Santos City, March 13, 1998 - The pride of General Santos City, Tierra Verde Hotel, has expanded not only its room capacity but its facilities as well.

Now on its eighth year, Tierra Verde continues to contribute to General Santos' drive toward social and economic progress by blossoming into a hotel for tourists, business travellers and vacationing families.

Owners Teresa Lee Belonio and Carlos Belonio have stuck to their original mission of catering to businessmen, thus helping push General Santos City to become and economic powerhouse in the region.

The expanded hotel's 5-storey building on Santiago Boulevard now has additional 58 guest rooms and suites, a coffee shop, restaurant with local and international cuisine, a game bar and one board room/conference room that can sit 40. The hotel's original structures add 34 guest rooms and suites and a swimming pool which has become the city's main social center on weekends.

Located along the national highway near the airport and bus terminals, Tierra Verde also has a souvenir shop, ballroom and discotheque that can accommodate 200 guests.
