GRAND RE-DO FOR CLARK FIELD'S WELCOME GATE
Clark Field, March 10, 1998 - A unique, world-class welcome awaits Philippine Centennial celebration guests even before they enter Clark: a fully landscaped area complete with fountain, lagoon, waterfall and a large parking area. Giant floodlights and artistically-concealed backlights witll make the arrival area even more beautiful at night.
All VIPs arriving for the festivities will be announced on a giant electronic billboard which will also announce special events just like the practice in Las Vegas and in giant sporting events in the United States.
Angelino Medina, Clark Development Corporation vice president for operations, said completion of the P30-million gate is being rushed in time for the opening of the Philippine Centennial Exposition 1998 (Expo '98) on April 30, 1998.
Two other gates leading to the Clark Special Economic Zone -- one along the Friendship Highway and the other in Mabalacat town -- are also being renovated.
