"MILAGROS" RULES URIAN AWARDS

Diliman, Quezon City, March 30, 1998 - "Milagros" bagged the major awards including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress as well as for Screenplay, Musical Score, Editing, Production Design and Cinematography at the 21st Gawad Urian Awards held at the UP Film Center.

Dolphy was paid a tribute and given a lifetime achievement award, while his real-life partner Zsa Zsa Padilla won as Best Actress for her role as a single mother in "Batang PX."

Raymond Bagatsing was named Best Actor for "Milagros" which also won awards for director Marilou Diaz-Abaya, supporting actress Elizabeth Oropesa (who shared the award with Maricel Laxa, co-star of "Minsan Lamang Magmahal), screenwriter Rolando Tinio, sound director Ramon Reyes, Musical Scorer Nonong Buencamino, Film Editor Jess Navarro, Production Designer Len Santos and Cinematographer Eduardo Jacinto.

John Arcilla was named Best Supporting Actor for playing one of the lovers of Rosanna Roces in "Ligaya Ang Itawag Mo Sa Akin."
