RIVER MAYA STILL 'DA BES' IN RP 

Manila, March 26, 1998 - RP's superband RiverMaya got a double-win awards as Band of the Year '97 and as the No 1 OPM Hitmaker for 1997.

And despite stiff competition with Eraserhead and other foreign superbands like Boyz 2 Men, Backstreet Boys, Hanson and even the Spice Girls who are so popular now with fans in the Philippines, the Pinoy group still tops the charts. RiverMaya pa rin kami! RP fans are clamoring.

RiverMaya is expected to break the international scene in their own biding time. "Hindi kami nagmamadali," songwriter Rico Blanco said. "Darating din ang tamang araw at oras para sa amin upang umakyat kami ng stage for an international recognition," chorused the group.
