Manila, March 20, 1998 - Tito Nards of Kislap Graphics weekly has this following review on the "ideal" couples' marriage breakups.
The marriage of love-team Amalia Fuentes and Romeo Vasquez fell apart after the birth of their child, Liezl, when it was discovered that Bobby (Romeo's nick) was already married to a certain Carol.
The mega-marriage of Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion at the Manila Cathedral, and many will remember, with the late FM and Imelda as the principal sponsors, turned nasty and ended after the birth of Kaycee. Gabby turned out to be also sleeping with Grace Ibuna. Shawie is now happily married to Kiko Pangilinan and scoop news just yesterday picked up on the Internet is that Sharon and Kiko are expecting their first child. They are presently residing in Boston, Massachusetts.
Sina Imelda Papin naman and Bong Carreon also grandiosely married at Manila Cathedral, also with the late FM and Imelda as sponsors, also busted apart after a child named Maffi, a daughter.
And of course, the Nora Aunor-Christopher de Leon wedding by the lake in Bauan, after the procreation that resulted in a lovely boy Ian, swiftly deteriorated and fell apart. Now, past history.
At sina Edu and Maricel Soriano pinagbuklod in wedded bliss which ended in separation. No child making here but Maricel produced Tien with Cesar Jalosjos whom she never married. Another showbiz history!
Recently, there are Pops Fernandez and Martin Nievera. They have three children, tried for the longest time to make it as a family, now broken up permanently. Martin is gone and nobody seems to know where he is nowadays. Where in the world is Martin Nievera?
And the secret marriage of Carmina Villaroel and Rustom Padilla for four long years have now gone caput also. No child in the unlocked wedlock.
Now Tito Nards was just wondering with the most ideal weddings that are forthcoming: that of Richard Gomez to Lucy Torres on April 28 and the promised Wedding of the Century of Bong Revilla and Lani Mercado.
Tito Nards, you are so cool!
