Manila, March 17, 1998 - William Martinez, the matinee idol of moviedom in the 80s and the erstwhile true-to-life and screen love team of Maricel Soriano, is very happy that he and his wife Yayo Aguila and their three daughters, Patricia, Dana and Danielle have decided to come back to the Philippines to live after several years in the United states.
William revealed that during his days with Maricel it was mainly his womanizing that caused their lengthy on-and-off romantic relationship. But he said it was fate that eventually separated them. Their careers took turns in different directions. Then Maricel fell in love with Ronnie Ricketts. He found Susan Bautista, then fatefully met the one-and-only Yayo.
He said up until now his friendship with Marya, as Maricel is fondly called by fans and friends, has remained solid and beautiful. Marya is godmother to William and Yayo's oldest daughter.
Now that he is back he has started a comeback to the movies with Maricel in the film "Kung Ayaw Mo, Huwag Mo" which was released last February. William admits that being married to Yayo has completely changed him and has made him the opposite of what he was. He is a very serious, devoted, and responsible family man.
