Pasig City, March 9, 1998 - Anjanette Abayari has filed a P35-million damage suit against Tanduay Rhum manufacturers for allegedly altering her photos to make her appear naked in the 1998 Tanduay calendar posters.
The actress-model filed a 10-page complaint before the Pasig City Regional Trial Court, alleging that she never posed in the way Tanduay's two calendars depict her.
One calendar shows her posing naked before a waterfall. The second shows her totally naked with but a narrow ribbon covering her private parts.
She accused the Rhum company's executives and its advertising agencies of pasting her face on the naked body of another woman with the use of computers.
Abayari claimed the calendar posters "embarrassed and humiliated" her and that the men who made it did so "with malice and bad faith, with the sole intent of profiting financially." She alleged that her right to privacy is being violated.
The calendars are widely circulated nationwide in bars, beer joints, health clubs and residential houses.
Nearly two years ago, Abayari also filed charges against people who circulated a video cassette tape that showed a woman who looked like her having sex with an unidentified man.
