Manila, March 9, 1998 - Megastar Sharon Cuneta in a letter to Philippine Star Ed Ricardo F. Lo: "I've never been so happy in my whole life. I have never known how it is to live a 'normal' life again until my family came here to Boston."
Sharon is in temporary retirement from her Philippine movie and TV careers since a year and a half ago when she decided to join her husband politician Francis Pangilinan in Boston where he is on scholarship studies at Harvard University. Francis is graduating in June from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.
With Sharon and Francis in Boston is Sharon's daughter Kayce who is now 12 and is the daughter of Gabby Concepcion. Kayce has done so well in school and has easily aclimatized herself into the American school and lifestyle. She has physically bloomed into a lovely young lady, much slimmer and a lot taller. Into her school soccer team and has made the school play in the "The Wis".
Sharon is busy playing the ordinary wife and mother. She has taken the nerve to finally drive a car. She drives to the grocery store and drives Kayce to school. They spend quality time together as a family. Go to church every Sunday and socialize mainly with Francis' group of friends from Harvard.
Sha has these words for her fans: "Be thankful to God Almighty for whatever you and your famiily have. Money isn't everything, folks. Take it from someone who gave up a good third (half even) of her annual income and left her other loved ones behind and the things she loves to do most--for one year and a half into it thus far-- and has never been happier!"
