Makati City, March 4, 1998 - Christian Fayette, the American who filed a complaint against Mark Anthony, has been offered P500,000 to drop the case.
Reporter Joe Mangoma of the tabloid Bulgar wrote that he interviewed the complainant, who revealed the pay-off attempt.
Fayette said an emissary of Mark Anthony phoned him , offering half a million pesos for him not to pursue the case against the son of actor Rudy Fernandez and Alma Moreno. However, the offer was refused. Fayette vowed that he will not withdraw his complaint.
A thorough investigation is currently being undertaken by SPO2 Nestor Valenzuela of the Makati Police Homicide section. Fayette complained that a drunken Mark Anthony threatened him with a knife while he was having breakfast inside the Whistle Stop eatery in Makati Sunday.
Three starlets who were with Fayette at the time of the incident have signified their intention to testify against the young actor. The American was with Angelica Jones, Cecille Layco and Khrisna Ramos when Mark Anthony allegedly threatened him.
