Manila, March 3, 1998 - The Manila Times reports that the mother of a new movie sex symbol has been missing for 10 days.
The mother of Klaudia Koronel left the home she shares with the star and three younger children without any notice.
Naturally, Klaudia was frantic. Not only did she worry about her Mom, the disappearance also left her all alone to look after her younger siblings while working hard to make a living.
Klaudia, who has just moved her family from a squatter colony, is dubbed a model daughter and a martyr. As soon as she could afford it, she took her mother to a plastic surgeon to get a nose job, in the hope that her galivanting father would fall in love with Mom all over again and reconcile.
After the nose job, Mom left, leaving Klaudia to care for the home and the kids and her career.
But she did manage to phone a few days after she left, although she did not bother to tell Klaudia where she was or if she was ever coming back to her own children.
The Manila Time writer speculates that "the woman felt too good about herself she just could not resist painting the town red with her new-found beauty."
