HOTEL AND FOOD EXHIBIT AT WORLD TRADE CENTER MANILA
Manila, Feb. 17, 1998 - The largest international exhibition of food, drink, catering, restaurant and hotel supplies ever to come to the Philippines opens Monday at the World Trade Center at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex.
More than 130 exhibits from around the world are open at the "Food and Hotel Philippines" expo which will be formally opened by Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago and Tourism Undersecretary Macabangkit Lanto.
Lanto will address the participants and touch on the government's policies to encourage the tourism, food and hotel industries in the country. Investments in the tourism-related sectors topped all other industries consistently, developing countryside attractions and providing much-needed employment opportunities outside the traditional metropolitan centers.
The expo also features big National Pavilions of 13 countries, led by Australia, Germany and the United States, along with individual exhibits and booths of major suppliers from the Philippines.
