ALLIANCE INTERNATIONALE DE TOURISME MEETS IN MANILA
Manila, Feb. 8, 1998 - The Alliance Internationale de Tourisme (AIT) Region II is holding its 14th general assembly in the Philippines Feb. 18-21.
The AIT is a world-wide organization of auto clubs which aims to promote and develop mobility through motor touring. It is divided into four regions, the second of which includes Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, China, India, Pakistan, Malaysia and the Philippines as members.
Representing the Philippines is the Philippine Motor Association, which has been an active AIT member since 1950. As host of this year's conference, the PMA has put together an attractive package that is aimed to catch the interest of tourists and road users alike.
The AIT believes that tourism and the freedom to cross international boundaries is for the common good and brings about better understanding between nations.
The PMA is confident that by the end of the four-day meeting, the AIT conference would have made a significant contribution in the promotion of our country's tourism industry.
