RECORD SKY-DIVING EXHIBITION AT CLARK
Clark Field, Feb.1, 1998 - The biggest sky-diving exhibition in Philippine history unfolds in the skies above Clark on Feb. 7, to highlight the launching of the celebrations for the Philippine Independence Centennial.
Tourism Secretary Mina Gabor said the mass sky-diving would be the historic prelude to the start of a 100-day countdown for the actual anniversary on June 12.
One hundred parachutists from the Philippine Air Force and from some private organizations have signed up to participate in the event. The sky divers will each carry a Philippine flag, which will be handed over to spectators when the parachutists hit the ground.
The jumps will be a composite air show on modified accuracy landing, canopy formation and tandem jump.
