BIG PURSES FOR NEXT ESPINOSA FIGHTS
Manila, Feb. 15, 1998 - World Boxing Council featherweight champion Luisito Espinosa could make up to $2 million if he successfully defends his title twice this year.
Luisito's Japanese manager Joe Koizumi us working out a $1 million unification title bout with World Boxing Organization (WBO) title holder Prince Naseem Hamed by September. The second bout is against Mexican Cesar Soto, in a return engagement in Manila by the end of the year, with prize money worth another $1 million.
Koizumi said there will be one non-title fight in London before the title defense bouts, and it will be against either Jonjo Irwin, Michael Alldis, Billy Hardy, Steve Robinson or Paul Ingle.
