FIL-CANADIANS GEAR UP FOR CENTENNIAL SPORTS FEST
Canada, Feb. 4, 1998 - A Centennial Golf Competition has been planned in Toronto by the Philippine Independence Day Committee and the Philippine Centennial Movement group for the Centennial Sports Festival in June 1998.
Other sports lined up for the Centennial Sports Festival are basketball, table tennis, softball, bowling and rifle and pistol shootfest.
But one sports event that is way ahead in terms of preparation is the Centennial volleyball tournament chaired by Toronto's leading Filipino newspaper, Atin Ito's sports writer Ruth-Claire Alinas.
The volleyball league will
start in early May under the Phil-Can Athletic Club based in Toronto.
There will be Men and Women divisions. There is no age limit. Skills will
be according to each individual experience.
