Manila, Feb. 24, 1998 - Gina Pareno, whose roller-coaster life is more colorful than a movie plot, is back doing movies once more.
She is reported to be looking radiant as she met the press for the movie "Pagdating ng Panahon" where she plays the mother of Aiko Melendez, who lives with her boyfriend over the objections of her parents.
It was a slimmer, more in-control Gina than the one who came of out the drug rehab center many months ago.
"I'm now on a fruit diet and I've lost 16 lbs.," she says. "I'll never go back to my old lifestyle."
"Pagdating ng Panahon" is a movie about live-in relationships. Asked what she thinks of such extra-marital arrangements, she gave a very frank reply.
"I've lived with a lot of men, some of whose names I can't remember now, but it's because when I met them, they were already married though separated from their wives. They were in no position to marry me," she said.
She confessed, however, to believing in marriage. "Who would not want to marry the man she loves?"
"But for now, I would like to take care only of my children and my career. No complications," she added.
