Manila, Feb. 21, 1998 - Priscilla Almeda, singer and former bold star, has found her real, biological mother after years and years of searching.
Priscilla, who was brought up In Vancouver as Abby Viduya by her foster parents, started the search when she was only 14, after finding out that she was adopted.
She ran away from home, entered the movie world via some Seiko Films bold movies and sued Seiko boss Robbie Tan for allegedly forcing her to do sexy and nude scenes. That was two years ago. She has since recovered, quit the bold movies circuit, reunited with her biological father, and developed herself as a singer.
Last year, when she turned 21, she appealed on TV to anyone who could furnish her with any information regarding her mother. When she admitted that her real father is radio man Rudolf Rivera, the relatives of her mother noticed a striking resemblance between Abby and Lea, who they knew delivered a still-born baby.
Lea had migrated to Canada in 1991 and was made to believe that her baby had died at birth. They got in touch with Rudolf, who in turn gave Abby her mother's Canadian phone number.
Abby and new-found mother Lea talked on the phone for almost 6 hours, crying and laughing and getting to know each other. Lea is living with her husband and children in Canada, where Abby hopes to go for a visit soon.
Abby knows what she will do when she sees her mother for the first time.
"I will give her the long and loving hug I've been wanting to give her all these years. I will tell her how much I love her. That's what I'm gonna do," a very happy Abby told members of the press.
Priscilla has started to use Abby Viduya again and is in love with a wonderful man who has apparently given her security and peace of mind.
