BOYET, MARICEL, METRO FILM FEST WINNERS

Manila, Feb. 5, 1998 - The 23rd Metropolitan Manila Film Festival (MMFF) awarded Best Actor to Christopher "Boyet" de Leon. With Boyet sharing the glory that night was his wife Sandy Andolong. The Best Actress award went to Diamond Star Maricel Soriano who defeated strong contender, Nora Aunor.

The "Gabi Ng Parangal" was held at the Philippine International convention Center.

President Fidel Ramos was in attendance along with Vice President Joseph "Erap" Estrada and Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim who are both strong presidential candidates in the coming election.

Erap's vice presidential running-mate is Senator Ed Angara for the opposition party, LABAN. Mayor Alfredo Lim is running for the Liberal Party with Sen Sergio Osmena III as his running-mate and is the candidate supported by former President Cory Aquino.
