ANNULMENT RUMORED FOR POPS AND MARTIN

Manila, Feb. 3, 1998 - The doyen of movie columnists and movie star managers, Ms. Ethel Ramos, wrote in her column published by MALAYA today that the on-again, off-again lovey- dovey marriage of TV and concert stars Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez may be heading for an annulment.

Ethel's column follows up other earlier articles in various newspapers, some revealing that Martin has left home, others discussing Martin's alleged affair with someone who is now based in New York with a newborn baby.

Martin and Pops are holding separate Valentine's Day concerts for the first time this year. Another clue is in the interview given by Pops, published Sunday. In it, Pops would not categorically answer the question on Martin's infidelity.

All she would say was: "Martin is worth fighting for, but only if he fights for me."
