EDGAR MORTIZ DIRECTS FIRST TV AD
Manila, Feb. 1, 1998 - Edgar Mortiz has gone a very long way from the pre-Martial Law ABS- CBN days of the on-screen, off-screen Vi-and-Bot romantic dalliance with Vilma Santos.
Edgar "Bobot" Mortiz now sports a moustache and beard, is an award-winning comedian and TV show director, happily-married and respected in the show business industry.
He has just finished directing his first TV commercial project, a 30-second ad for Advanced Deowhiteneer from Splash. The ad is called "Kili-Killers" and chronicles the misadventures of the "Kili-Killers" or people with underarms that are dark, sweaty and smelly. The product advertised claims to solve all these problems, with the bonus of whitening the skin as well.
Bobot's comic commercial is airing in all TV stations nationwide.
As to returning to the giant screen with Vilma Santos in a movie? That's kind of far-fetched at the moment, what with the reports that Vilma "Star of All Seasons" Santos is very seriously considering the proddings of her husband's constituents to run for mayor of Lipa City.
