CANADA AIDS SMALL ENTERPRISES
Cebu City, Feb. 21, 1998 - The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) is extending its entrepreneur project, a program which aims to assist micro-cottage and small business enterprises. The program was due to expire next month.
CIDA has earmarked P10 million to extend the operation of the Micro Cottage Business Linkage Program (MCBLP) to the year 2000. In partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
According to DTI provincial director Nelia Navarro, CIDA has set aside P11.075 million to boost "firm-level" assistance research on "alternative sources of materials" s well as their uses and productivity levels.
Funds allotted to the MCBLP will be devoted to marketing-related activities such as selling missions to Canada and participation in local and international trade fairs.
