STOCKS AND PESO RISE AGAIN
Manila, Feb. 19, 1998 - The stock market and the Philippine peso continued today to recoup some of its recent losses.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index Wednesday closed 42.07 points higher at 2,097 points. Total volume of transactions was P1.1 billion.
Meantime, the peso closed at P40.00 to the dollar today, up 65 centavos from Tuesday's P40.65 and 86 centavos higher than Monday's P40.86=$1.
