P240-M COMPUTER PLANTS APPROVED
Manila, Feb. 4, 1998 - The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) has approved two Filipino-owned computer plant projects costing P240 million.
The first projects of Ionics Circuits Philippines Inc is the P126.2 million venture for the production of head gimbal assembly for use in hard disk operations. Ionics, which will locate in the Light Industry and Science Park in Laguna, will export its products to Fujitsu and TDK Corp of Japan.
The other Ionics project is thee P113.8 million plant for ATP adapter card and flexible circuit assembly also in the Light Industry and Science Park. Output of the second plant is intended for Europe, Asian countries and other PEZA-registered enterprises.
