CEBU HILTON TO RISE IN MACTAN
Cebu City, Jan. 15, 1998 - Hilton International is returning to the Philippines via Cebu, as manager of resort towers owned by local property developer Goldland Philippines Corporation.
The resort towers, located near Shangri-La's Mactan Island Resort, will be known as the Cebu Hilton Resort and Towers. It will have two towers: one for residential and one a condotel tower which will be operated as a five-star hotel.
Goldland president Manuel Osmena announced that the whole project will include a marina, beach, water sports facilities, free-form freshwater swimming pool, health club, function rooms, business centers, coffee shop and fine dining restaurants.
Osmena said Hilton International was picked as investing partner and managing company after his negotiations with 10 other international hoteliers because of Hilton's aggressive development plan in the Asia-Pacific region.
