P9.4-M PM GOLF CLASSIC BEGINS JAN. 27
Antipolo, Rizal, Jan. 14,1998 - The Philip Morris Golf Classic unfolds January 27 at the Valley Golf Club with the country's touring pros vying for P9.4 million staked for seven legs in seven of the country's top championship courses.
The series offers P1.3 million, including P150,000 for the winning pro, in each of the seven legs, making it the richest-ever in the 12-year history of the circuit.
Cassius Casas, winner of the series' kickoff leg last year, is expected to lead the creme de la creme of Philippine golf in chasing the victory over 10 months of the circuit.
