WORLD'S BIGGEST COCKFIGHT DERBY IN RP
Quezon City, Jan. 9, 1998 - The Philippines will stage the world's biggest cockfighting event when the 1998 World Slasher Cup International 8-Cock Derby happens January 19, 21 and 23 at the Araneta Coliseum.
The three-day event gathers the best and the toughest gamebird fighters from derby circuits in the United States to pit fighting skills against top Philippine derby aces.
Hosts of the competition are prominent cocker-sportsmen Nene Araneta, Biboy Enriquez, Jun Santiago and Mario Villamor who are past World Slasher champions and Cocker of the Year title holders.
Flying in for the event are game cock breeders and competitors from Alabama, North Carolina, Louisiana and other American states.
