LOU DIAMOND PHILIPS ARRIVES FOR FILMING
Manila, Jan. 30, 1998 - No one recognized Lou Diamond Philips when he slipped incognito into the Ninoy Aquino International Airport last weekend.
Wearing a jogging suit, a baseball cap, sneakers and lugging a small gym bag, the dark-haired star of "Young Guns" and "Courage Under Fire" did not cause a stir the way his co-star Bill Pullman did two weeks earlier.
Philips was the last big actor to fly in for the American production being shot in the Philippines, "Two Girls" starring Claire Danes and Kate Beckinsale. The movie is directed by Jonathan Kaplan, who also megged "The Accused."
The movie is set in Thailand, but the production company decided to shoot it in the Philippines, which has the same flora and fauna for rural scenes. City scenes are shot in downtown Manila, thinly disguised with Bangkok street and store signs. Huge warehouses in nearby industrial zones have been converted into sound stages.
"Two Girls" is the maiden offering of Japanese-American producer Alex Kitman Ho.
