FILIPINO MOVIE IN BERLIN FILMFEST

SunPro International, Jan. 26, 1998 - The Screenwriters Unlimited has issued the following press release:

GMA Network Films' "SA PUSOD NG DAGAT" (In the Navel of the Sea) has been confirmed for exhibition in the Panorama of the 1998 Berlin International Film Festival (February 11-22) where it will mark its World Premiere.

The film stars Jomari Ylana, Elizabeth Oropesa and ChinChin Gutierrez. This also marks the last major screen appearance of National Artist Rolando S. Tinio. Directed by Marilou Diaz-Abaya and written by Jun Lana based upon his 1996 Palanca award-winning screenplay: "Mga Bangka sa Tag-araw".

The film has also been accepted at the 1998 Toronto and Singapore International Film Festivals.
