MARTIN-POPS CRISIS OVER
Manila, Jan. 20, 1998 - Pops Fernandez and Martin Nievera have weathered the latest storm in their very public marriage. And to keep the peace, they will, for the first time, hold separate Valentine concerts.
Pops explained in several interviews on TV and with print journalists that her own concert will be on Feb 7 at the ULTRA. Entitled "Shine" and directed by Rowell Santiago, Pop's concert will have as special guests Regine Velasquez and Arnel Ignacio.
"This will be my most physically demanding concert so far because I will do a lot of dancing with the VIP Dancers, have a lot of costume changes and get involved in comedy skits with Arnel," Pops said.
She told Mario Bautista of the Manila Times that she is a very assertive woman and not the martyr-type wife that people say she is.
"I'm the type who'll always fight for what I feel is right. I might be submissive, just like other wives, but I can be very strong. Let's face it, women are really emotionally stronger than men because we take problems and stress better than men."
