ROMNICK IS PRETTY MOVIE TRANSSEXUAL

Manila, Jan. 18, 1998 - Beth Tamayo could not believe her eyes when current boyfriend Romnick Sarmenta appeared on the set of the new movie "Miguel/Michelle" as the title character.

According to Beth, and supported by everyone on the set, Romnick makes a pretty Michelle.

"Parang batang Amy Austria!" exclaimed Beth.

Romnick's role In "Miguel/Michelle" is as a homosexual nurse who returns to his barrio in the countryside after undergoing a successful sex-change operation in the United States.

The movie shows Romnick as "Miguel" only in a few early scenes; the rest of the movie is mostly about "Michelle" after the operation.

Romnick agreed to do the role on condition that he need not shave his armpits, legs and eyebrows. Another condition was that there be no love scene and no nude shots.

The movie was shot almost in its entirety in Lucban and Tayabas, Quezon Province. It will be entered in the New York Film Festival by its director Gil Portes.
