ALBERT MARTINEZ, MOVIE PRODUCER

Manila, Jan. 14, 1998 - Albert Martinez is all set to produce movies for his own company, Original Concepts, which he has put up with the help of some investor friends.

Albert's first project is a docu-drama on the drug menace, entitled "Isang Gabi, Parang S" with S standing for Shabu.

The project is now in pre-production, and will star Albert himself. He wants it to be finished in time to enter the Manila Film Festival in June.

His second project is "China Girl" which will be about the Chinese community in the Philippines, possibly to star Amanda Page in the title role. New female director Avie Ilagan will be tapped to handle it.

Albert, who once was considered as "just another pretty face" in Philippine movies, is very happy that his acting is getting critical attention. This early, there are rumors of more acting awards for his roles in "Nang Iwan Mo Ako" and "Rizal sa Dapitan."
