NORA AUNOR FOR SENATOR?
Manila, Jan. 9, 1998 - Gerard Ramos, entertainment columnist of the prestigious newspaper TODAY writes that Nora Aunor is considering running for a Senate seat.
The superstar has been highly visible in the past few months, campaigning for presidential aspirant and incumbent Vice President, former actor Joseph Estrada. She was also with the leaders of labor and urban poor rallies at Mendiola Bridge near Malacanang, demonstrating for higher wages and more privileges for the poor.
Aunor was not available for comment. According to a member of her household staff, the actress was in her home province in the Bicol region.
Aunor had been courted by the ruling LAKAS-NUCD, but she aligned herself with Estrada's coalition party Laban ng Makabayang Masang Pilipino (LAMMP) which is fielding Estrada as official candidate for president.
