007 FILM SETS RP BOX OFFICE RECORD
Manila, Jan. 7, 1998 - The James Bond thriller "Tomorrow Never Dies" broke all records for the all-time biggest opening day gross for any film, local or foreign, in the Philippines.
Agent 007 really started the year with a bang, demolishing all box office records when it opened Sunday with a sensational gross take of P11,771,119.00.
The figures were released yesterday by Tristan Leveriza, general manager of United International Pictures (UIP) which locally distributes the film through Warner.
"Tomorrow Never Dies" is currently showing in 97 Metro Manila theaters.
The box office record prior to Sunday was "The Lost World" which grossed P7 million on opening day.
