Iligan City, Jan. 18, 1998 - The government has fielded health workers to fumigate suspected mosquito-breeding areas all over the city and launched an extensive information campaign to educate the residents on the causes and prevention of H-fever.
The Department of Health has warned residents of the rise in H-fever (dengue) cases this month, resulting in the death of two children.
Health officials report that H-fever cases began last October, when 58 cases were reported. The next month, there were 73, and 81 in December.
Dengue is transmitted to humans by mosquitoes. Infants and children are the most vulnerable victims, doctors said.
