Castillejos, Zambales, Jan. 16, 1998 - Reconstruction work on the ancestral home of the late President Ramon Magsaysay may not be finished in time for the Philippine Centennial celebrations in June.
Workers of the Manila-based Acecraft Enterprises and Construction, tasked with restoration and reconstruction of the 1,800-square-meter home, claim that an apparition in white, a "lady without a face" haunts them.
Aniceto Icabandi, Acecraft site foreman, revealed that at least three of his workers had quit and returned to Manila, preferring to be among the unemployed in the city rather than experience the hauntings night after night.
The ghost, according to 43-year-old carpenter Rene Cuenca, called out his name and turned off the bathroom lights when their project engineer Lito Dimalanta was in the shower.
Ghost or no ghost, the National Historical Institute vows that the Magsaysay home will be ready before the end of the year.
