Cabanatuan City, Jan. 6, 1998 - US dollars are enticing more participants to the Binibining Cabanatuan beauty contest.
Cecille Gonzales, chief organizer of the pageant, said the event is an annual feature of Cabanatuan's fiesta which falls on February 3, although this is the first time that the prizes are in American dollars.
Under the new rules of the contest, Binibining Cabanatuan will receive $750, the runner-up will receive $500, while the second and third runners up will get $250 and $125 respectively.
The pageant is open to all female residents of Cabanatuan age 15-20 who have good moral character and stand at least five feet two inches tall.
Judges for the contest are beauty queen-actress Charlene Gonzales, Deputy Speaker Hernando Perez, bachelor Capiz Congressman Mar Roxas and TV host Loren Legarda.
