Manila, Jan. 2, 1998 - The Metro Manila Development Authority's (MMDA) E-mail volume is largely devoted to suggestions and comments on the traffic situation and the water crisis.
The MMDA's computer consultant, Tom Manning of Corporate Solutions, said the MMDA "is trying its best to control the traffic situation."
Metro Manila residents who have access to E-mail wrote, welcoming the modernization of the MMDA's communications system. One of them said the establishment of an E-mail address and the publication of the same "brought the people much closer to the government agencies."
Many of the reports are about leaking water pipes, traffic obstructions, garbage and illegal water connections.
The MMDA E-mail address is <mmdagm@vasia.com> and is checked and answered regularly.
