Marawi City, January 1, 1998 - Lanao del Sur Governor Mahid Mutilan has been ordered suspended for 60 days on charges of dishonesty, oppression, misconduct in office, gross negligence, abuse of authority and corrupt practices.
The suspension was ordered by Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Acting Governor Guimid Matalam, who appointed Vice Governor Bai Normalah Alonto Lucman-Pacasum to take over as acting Lanao del Sur governor "effective immediately."
This is the second suspension for Mutilan, who had earlier been ordered arrested by the Manila Regional Trial Court for large-scale illegal recruitment.
