PENINSULA JOINS SATELLITE CONFERENCE NETWORK
Makati City, Dec. 27, 1997 - The Peninsula Manila recently added a new feature aimed at travelling business executives: facilities for satellite network conferencing.
The new facility, the first in the Philippine hotel industry, makes it possible for businessmen to "see and be seen by" audiences in 100 cities around the world. Thus, a presentation from any of the meeting rooms at the Peninsula Hotel can be seen at the same time by audiences in Singapore, Jakarta, New York, Madrid, or almost anywhere in the world.
Maridol Ylanan, sales and marketing director of he Peninsula Manila, says that becoming part of the satellite conferencing network is consistent with the hotel's objective of providing the most comprehensive and up-to-date conference facilities to its very discerning business guests.
"Business Television is undoubtedly the most significant development to have occurred in the meetings and conventions industry in many years," she said. "The technology effectively removes two of the greatest limitations on attendance in any function -- venue capacity and geographic location -- thus bringing us closer to realizing our dream of achieving a Global Village."
The technology serves the need of executives and corporations for product launching, management presentations, sales and personnel training, client service seminars and policy announcements.
