GRAND LANTERN PARADE SUNDAY
Manila, Dec. 12, 1997 - Manila will be treated to a spectacular International Lantern Parade this Sunday, which will fill up the entire length of Roxas Boulevard from the new World Trade Center at Buendia to the Quirino Grandstand at the Rizal Park.
The parade will also feature marching bands, cultural groups, Ati-Atihan, acrobats, clowns and mascots, and large colorful floats.
The first International Lantern Parade was held last year, and was so successful it prompted President Ramos to issue an Executive Order mandating every second Sunday of December as Philippine International Lantern Parade Day.
The EO was made to sustain the gains achieved by the Philippine Tourism Industry and to strengthen the country's competitiveness in the world market.
