TAIWANESE LAUNCH LEYTE AGRO-TOURISM
Tacloban City, Dec. 11, 1997 - A unique approach that will embrace food productivity and tourism has been introduced in Leyte by a Taiwanese investor.
Joseph Shyu, proponent of the project, is converting a 47-hectare estate into an agricultural tourist farm, patterned after similar successful ventures in Taiwan, France, the United States and Japan.
The P83-million project will be on a turn-key basis involving a five-year development plan which will be applied in the town of Sta. Fe, Leyte, under the auspices of the Leyte Integrated Resource Management Center.
The project will allow people in the region to make use of various fruits and plants throughout the year with the use of state-of-the-art agricultural methods, using Taiwanese agricultural technology and certified planting materials.
