PAL IMPROVES ASIAN ROUTES SERVICES
Manila, Dec. 5, 1997 - Philippine Airlines is enhancing services to major Southeast Asian destinations.
Staring December 1, the flag carrier operates only brand-new Airbus A320 aircraft on its five- times-weekly service to Kuala Lumpur. The Luxurious single-aisle jetliner replaces to older A300s on the route.
By January, all PAL flights to Bander Seri Begawan (Brunei) via Kota Kinabalu (Malaysia) will be operated exclusively on A320s, giving passengers on this sector with Mabuhay (business) class for the first time. This route is currently served by all-economy-seats Boeing 737s.
This month and next month, PAL is also mounting more seat offerings on its services to Singapore, Jakarta, Ho Chi Minh and Bander Seri Begawan via Kota Kinabalu. The additional capacities will be done through aircraft upgrades, extra-section flights and split flights.
