RP JR BOWLER IS SINGAPORE CHAMP
Singapore, Dec. 25, 1997 - Junior bowler Chester King of the Philippines outplayed one of Malaysia's best lady stars and captured the Singapore Classic '97 Bowling Championship crown last weekend.
King rolled 243 to crush Lai Kin Ngoh, who scored only 181 despite a 12-pin handicap.
King also topped the 12-game semifinals with 2550 for a 212.5 average.
Two other Filipinos -- Ezzie Gan and CJ Suarez -- tallied 2424 and 2403 respectively to finish 9th and 10th.
