LAWSUITS POISED OVER SHELL DRAFT ILDEFONSO
Makati City, Dec. 24, 1997 - Controversial Philippine Basketball League (PBL) cager Danny Ildefonso was the star of yesterday's Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) annual rookie draft, when he was honored as the top pick of Formula Shell.
However, the Pangasinan native, former National University star, may find himself facing charges in court. Agfa, which holds the rights over the former RP team center until December 1998, has threatened to sue.
The Manila Chronicle reports that Agfa is suing for at least P1.9 million if the player wants to get off the hook.
Ildefonso had also committed his services to the Pangasinan team in the Metropolitan Basketball Association. The team is reportedly seeking P1 million to set him free.
